Day 43:  Monday, August 8, Lamar, Colorado to Syracuse, Kansas  We rode 56.8 miles with 559 ft of climb  - We chose to ride Highway 50 rather than the TransAmerica designated route because the highway had a very good shoulder and following the Arkansas River made for a much more scenic and populated journey.  We do not have a problem with heavy traffic on the road and found everyone to be very courteous.  For more information on our journey across Kansas, click here

I have to wait for Dennis to help me add notes to the rest of the days of riding!  The biggest difference in my days and nights since the computer crashed is that I have read a book a day!  The libraries have good sales of old books so I did not have to carry them along.
