Well, this is the first photo I took after the computer crashed!
This was in Walden, Colorado about 2 hours after we had arrived - I had downloaded the photos I took on the ride into Walden - and just bam the computer shut down!
The storms had passed and we were showered and sort of rested and ready for dinner and the Moose Creek Cookhouse was a great place to eat - good food and nice people.

We had dinner and breakfast here and it was good!

Believe me, it did not look this good last evening when we arrived with all the wind and storms but oh what a difference a good night's sleep makes! Lovely country

Jim and Joanna Gregg drove up from their condo in Dillon and hauled us - bike/trailer and all - back to Dillon to enjoy R&R with them at their condo in Dillon. It would have been a lovely day to ride but we were ready for some R&R
This is a shot off the balcony of their condo overlooking Dillon Reservoir

Beginning to pack the TwinAir

back to some pretty stuff!

We were here for 3 days but it was mostly cloudy all the time

They really do have a wonderful view

One of those remote shots
A wonderful dinner at the condo

We had great breakfast at the Columbine Cafe in Breckenridge on Wednesday morning before we
headed for Fairplay

It was colder than it looks!
We were at the top of Hoosier Pass with a mostly downhill run to Fairplay
We just hoped we would beat the rain- and we did!

we did beat the rain but it was cold!

Libraries become important places when your computer has crashed
Every little communicy has a wonderful library where anyone can use the computers to check email etc.

This old hotel in Fairplay was neat and very good food

We rode out of Fairplay in the rain and wind and cool temps -
Then we arrived in Hartsell and sought shelter and warmth in this wonderful store
He felt really sorry for our plight and tried to find a pickup and driver to take us to Canon City - but no luck!
Good hot coffee and cinnamon rolls though!
And it was rain all the way to Canon City and so there were no more photos on Day 39!

Day 40 Canon City to Pueblo was rainy most of the way

The next mornig leaving the Marriott we saw this guy!

We thought about staying in Rocky Ford but pedaled on!

Welcome to La Junta, Coloraod

These signs always look good to us!

Trains always look good in the background and the restaurant was good too!

Getting ready to leave we found a photographer!

and got a photo of her too

Breakfast on the way out of La Junta

crossing the Arkansas again

We figure it must have been a school house

arriving in Lamar - our last stop in Colorado

heading for Kansas on Day 43

once more we cross the Arkansas River
So this finishes our riding in Colorado for 2005
