Back to Wyoming

Day 32: Thursday, July 28, 2005, Muddy Gap to Rawlins We rode 45.8 with 2444 feet of climb.

We started our day at the Muddy Gap convenience store where I had a good wi-fi connection and they had good coffee and some heatable breakfast sandwiches to start our day.

This is Matt, Dave, Thomas and Brian, not necessarily shown in that order, from Connecticut, Virginia, and New Hampshire. They were at the convenience store refueling too. The bike you see is a road bike with a total load of 24 pounds. Pretty impressive for a cross country trip. They started at Virginia Beach and have a 67 day schedule for completion.

They have a website too: http://vatoor.blogspot.com/

Just a few shots of the scenery today

snow fences – lots of snow fences

another crossing of the Continental Divide Elev 6720

now we arrive at Lamont

and find Grandma's Café OPEN

We found several bus drivers enjoying her food too and when we came in they quite loudly began to berate all bicyclists for a number of reasons. Dennis did not hear them – fortunately! After they left I told him and so did the waitress

They had passed us a few miles back and we certainly did not give them any reason to complain! Nor did they give us any trouble then.

loved her signs
