Back to Wyoming

Day 29: Monday, July 25, 2005 Togwotee Lodge to Dubois – We rode 37.7 miles and climbed 1579 feet and made it to about 1 mile from our motel before it started raining—but rain it did and we were soaked when we checked in. Good news was that the box with the drum brake had arrived so we are back in business and ready for whatever descents come our way!!!

Leaving Togwotee Lodge – warm and clear – beautiful!

Looking toward the 9 mile climb ahead

We were traveling on Hwy 26 between Togwotee Lodge and Duboise today

Glad to be here! Had a tail wind that made us cool but did not keep us from sweating!

ahead to the right

and back again and that sign on the right says we just came up 17 miles of 6% grade! We were so glad we had done half of it yesterday!

looking ahead

and now heading down 9 miles of 2% to 6% grade still with no drum brake so we will take it slow

The Pinnacles

When we came around the corner a bit ago there they were

But, I was not ready for them so I missed the best photo

They are the most rugged mountains I have ever seen

And just as spectacular as the Tetons

looking back at them

the road follows the Wind River

We stopped about here to put on our shoe covers just in case
