BACK TO WYOMING

Day 28: Sunday, July 24, 2005 We rode 43.5 miles and climbed 2844 feet from Flagg Ranch to Togwotee Lodge.  You never, never know when you will luck out and have wi-fi in the most unlikely places!! We have it here at Togwotee Lodge so I have to get all caught up!

Thinking that a 42 mile day—even with a significant climb—would be a day we could handle, we slept in and had a leisurely breakfast. There were several places along the way where we knew we could stop for food or Gatorade and knew we could have a wonderful lunch at Jackson Lodge—so it seemed as though it would be a pleasant day of riding. And it was, but that climb at the end was just all we wanted to handle and made the day seem like a 70 miler!

Leaving Flagg Ranch, still on the wonderful John D. Rockerfeller, Jr. Parkway with the good shoulder

with changing views

and the shoulder went away

We had a wonderful dinner at the Lodge and even allowed ourselves to enjoy Strawberry Cobbler with Ice Cream for dessert and it was sooooooo good! What a treat!

With another short day tomorrow and the 9 mile climb coming first thing we look forward to a good night's rest and will just sleep till we wake and hope we do not miss breakfast!
