Day 25: We rode from Ennis to West Yellowstone   72.2 miles  and climbed 2677 feet

We crossed the Madison River leaving Ennis and the road paralleled the river all the way to West Yellowstone but it was 25 miles before we saw it again.

It was worth the wait though and was like a whole different ride when the road and the river connected!

The closer we got to West Yellowstone the more fishing boats we saw – there are lots of beautiful lodges and resorts along the river

Some floaters

We caught up with Steve again at the Grizzly Bar and Grill and had a wonderful lunch. Very rustic décor and beautiful views of course

We stopped at the Slide Inn for a cool drink and to buy some ice and when I walked into the store, this guy with the great smile was sitting there and I walked past—then backed up and asked him if he was who he looked like???--he said yes and I should have asked if he would let me take his photo but I did not – so I was taking photos of the bikers when he came out and I caught a shot of him walking away! It was a highlight of my day!

William Devane

I got this one off the web

These two are westbound and doing great they also have a website which we will be checking as they move along

They said we should not miss the Running Bear Pancake House in West Yellowstone!  That is the kind of advice we love to get

We rode along this reservoir for about 15 miles

It was another long tough day and we were happy to arrive.
