Day 18: Thursday, July 14, 2005 began very early because we knew the climb would be tough.
Fortunately the café opened early and served great food to get us going.
we would be riding all but 13 miles of this winding road today with no services available for 64 miles - where we would stop for the night
We stopped at this Ranger Station and enjoyed a good rest
Steve caught us again and we stopped for lunch
We are almost at our destination and now get the real climb as we leave the Lochsa River
and when we got up to the Lochsa Lodge sign—it pointed down
Dennis figured it would be located way back down by the river
BUT the lodge and cabins actually were not to far down
The campground part was way down by the river
it is a little store but they had everything we wanted
the restaurant had a wonderful view and the food was the same
Rick and Vicki rode their new BMW up and joined us at Lochsa Lodge
They got to meet Steve and we enjoyed dinner together
