 The Guild of Tulsa Opera, Inc. is a non -profit organization whose mission is to promote opera in the Tulsa community and region.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the opera and an interest in promoting the art form in our community and schools.

Education…
The Guild sponsors a variety of education activities:

  • Opera Insights (an adult wine & cheese event with a preview of the upcoming opera production)
  • Membership Meetings - Educational Programming
  • Docents
  • Children’s Opera Workshops
  • Student Matinees
  • Notables (a teen program)

Artist Hospitality…
The Guild is nationally recognized for the Artist Hospitality programs and service.

  • The twenty-plus member artist hospitality committee hosts various visiting artists while in Tulsa with a welcome luncheon and dress rehearsal supper prior to each production.
  • Members of this community also support Tulsa Opera by opening their homes for visiting artists to stay on an extended basis.

Membership…
The Guild conducts general membership meetings in some of Tulsa’s most beautiful homes, country clubs and other corporate venues. Each meeting is hosted by a luncheon committee and special educational programming is provided.

Fundraising and Social Events…
Each year the Guild hosts a large Gala Event to raise funds to support Guild programs and Tulsa Opera. A large Live & Silent Auction are part of this annual gala. Bravo! Celebrating Lakme on February 8, 2008 was chaired by Carolyn Polston and Lucy Rooney was honored for her many years of service and support of Tulsa Opera.  The annual gala for the upcoming season is scheduled for January 31, 2009.  SAVE THE DATE !


The Guild also hosts 16-18 Special Occasions. These are a series of more intimate parties and other social events to raise funds, to increase awareness of the art form, and to provide a social time for opera patrons. Special Occasions range from cooking classes and book reviews to elegant teas and golf.
