JUNE 23 THROUGH 30, 2006
Today is June 30th and we have moved into the Condo in Breckenridge and I have to admit I really enjoyed cooking dinner in a BIG kitchen. We will pick Dirk and Nia up at Denver airport tomorrow morning and then the fun really begins!!
Here are a couple of photos I took on our ride yesterday. We did not make a Metric Century so only got 876 miles in June. They were wonderful miles!
This one is in Keystone

Leaving Keystone and heading back to Dillon
Looking across Lake Dillon

It was a beautiful day

JUST A PHOTO OF OUR RV WITH THE NEW BIKE ON THE RACK

A CLOSE UP VIEW OF HOW IT FIT ON THE RACK

IT TRAVELED QUITE WELL

ANOTHER PHOTO OF COLORADO NATIONAL MONUMENT

ZOOMED IN A BIT

TAKEN WHILE RIDING ACROSS THE DILLON DAM TODAY, JUNE 26

LOOKING BACK AT THE TRAIL ACROSS THE DAM- I SHOOK A BIT - THE DAM IS BRIM FULL

ALL FITTED OUT WITH WATER AND TOOLS AND FENDERS

A REMOTE SHOT ON OUR WAY INTO FRISCO (thsoe are our tandem talk mikes in front of our mouths)

Today - Tuesday June 27 we rode up to Copper Mountain this is the trail following the river

June 28th we rode to Dillon for breakfast and then headed up to Montezuma
This photo was taken at the Dillon Amphitheater and shows how lovely the early morning was

This photo - looking the other direction- shows what is happening up toward Montezuma -- and yet we rode on up
Unfortunately when we got within about 1/2 mile of Montezuma the thunder and lightning
were too much for me and when my screams got as loud as the thunder my wonderful Captain
made the prudent decision to turn around and flee back to Keystone
We did and beat the rain and sat it out in a wonderful little coffee shop.
Today we rode 51 miles and in order to get 900 miles this month we shall try
to ride a metric century tomorrow!!
