After arriving in San Diego and getting settled in at Campland on the Bay on June 1, we have been constantly on the go

riding all of our favorite routes and eating at as many of our favorite restaurants as we had time for and with friends at their homes.

Our first ride was up to La Jolla to have breakfast at Bernini's Bistro

Then on Saturday we rode with Dennis and Cindy Spillane and several of their friends, up the coast highway, stopping

at The Lumberyard in Encinitas for coffee and goodies

They all headed back home and we continued on up the Coast Highway and had a rather late breakfast at

another of our favorite places, Mariah's in Carlsbad - some of the greatest omelets ever made!

Although it was bright and sunny in San Diego we rode most of the day in this sort of  June Gloom weather

but it was still wonderful

;

That evening we joined Rich and Ina for dinner at Cindy and Dennis Spillane at their lovely home

Then on Sunday we rode with Rich and Dennis to The Green Flash in Pacific Beach for breakfast and then on up to

Point Loma

View looking down from Point Loma Light House area to the old light house area and tide pools

a photo of Rich Wolf with the gloomy Coronado and San Diego below as we left Point Loma

as it began to clear up we had some lovely views as we rode toward downtown San Diego

And of course it was time to eat again and we had a wonderful lunch at Zia's in Little Italy

-

Today, Monday the 5th I forgot to take a photo of our ferry ride or breakfast cafe because it was

total "June Gloom" and I did not even get the camera out until we were back off the ferry and riding down Harbor Drive

This is a sculpture by "Niki" - who is very famous and we need to learn more of her info

Rich said she supervised the set-up of this sculpture but that she died in 2002.

We will eat at The Tin Fish another day - it is across from the Convention Center

just some pretty trees up by City College

Another sculpture by "Niki" up in Balboa Park

This one is not by "Niki"

It is above the courtyard at the new CalTrans office building in Old Town

And then it was time to eat again - this time lunch in Ocean Beach at "Shades"

beautiful afternoon!
